Masterson’s Tavern , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my recent visit at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I experienced behind its walls was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The Condition of the Premises : Grimy and Disregarded
From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a foul smell of stale beer and neglected washrooms filled the entire venue . Smelling a mixture of ammonia , decay and sour vomit . The serving zone , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and litter that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The bathroom was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a shattered handle and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human waste .

As I dug deeper , I was horrified to find accusations against him involving misconduct , with multiple women alleging that he of sending indecent material . Described as overly aggressive and boundary-crossing , his actions has created an intimidating space for women who patronize Masterson’s.
